Dr. Irene Zaman, a native of Queens, New York City, is a compassionate and dedicated optometrist with a diverse academic and clinical background. Known for her commitment to improving patients’ lives through personalized vision care, Dr. Zaman has served patients across the country, delivering precise diagnoses and tailored treatments that enhance their overall quality of life.

Dr. Zaman attended the prestigious Stuyvesant High School, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics from Fordham University. While excelling academically, Dr. Zaman discovered her deeper calling for healthcare, leading her to pursue optometry.

Dr. Zaman earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry, where she gained extensive clinical experience in diverse environments—from treating complex eye conditions at the Northport VA in New York, to serving high-volume, urban populations at the Illinois Eye Institute, and caring for rural communities in Elgin, Illinois. Her areas of expertise include cutting-edge optometric technology, myopia management, specialty contact lenses, and advanced dry eye treatments.

Throughout her academic and professional career, Dr. Zaman has been recognized for her achievements, receiving accolades such as the Fordham Tuition Award, the Jefferies Family Scholarship, and a commendation from the National Honor Society. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the California Optometric Association, staying at the forefront of advancements in her field.

Dr Zaman is Fluent in English and Bengali, and conversational in French.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Zaman is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and cuisines. She also loves diving into romance novels, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
