Our History
Vantage Eye Center was originally founded as Salinas Valley Eye Associates in 1980, when Dr. Stuart Paul, MD, joined Dr. Glenn Smith, MD, in his growing eye care office. Dr. Paul was the first physician on the Monterey Peninsula to treat cataracts with intraocular lens implantation, a procedure revolutionary at the time that has now become the standard of care. This was the beginning of our commitment to offering patients the most advanced treatments available.
Since it’s early days, our practice has flourished. We now have three locations and have welcomed new providers who bring exceptional expertise and experience in eye care. We continue to offer comprehensive vision care services alongside advanced surgical treatments.
